Today, the city offers about 20 parks, numerous playing fields, shopping centers, and a range of special events, such as an art and wine festival, a holiday tree-lighting event, and a summer music series.

The city’s median household income is $100,000, and the median home value is $711,00, according to 2013 United States Census Bureau data. Of Sunnyvale’s 55,791 housing units, 47 percent are occupied by the owners.
